Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Paddle Forecast ("we," "us") collects when you visit www.paddleforecast.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your email address if you sign up for the Weekly Court Report, and anything you include if you contact us.
- Gear Forecast answers. Your choices in the forecast tool run in your browser. We do not store them on our servers or tie them to you.
- Usage data. If you allow analytics, we collect pages viewed, approximate location by city or region, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
- Cookies. Small files that remember your privacy settings, measure traffic, and let retailers credit us when you buy through our links. See "Cookies and your settings" below.
How we use information
- To send the newsletter you asked for. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- To understand which guides help readers so we can improve them.
- To earn affiliate commissions, which keep the site free.
- To respond to your messages and keep the site secure.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer may set a cookie to record that you came from us, and we may earn a commission if you buy. The retailer's own privacy policy covers what happens on their site.
Who we share information with
- Service providers that run the site for us, such as our host Cloudflare, email platform and analytics tool Cloudflare Web Analytics. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Legal reasons, when the law requires it or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
- A new owner, if the site is sold or merged. You would be notified first.
Cookies and your settings
Essential cookies remember your privacy choices and are always on. Analytics and affiliate tracking cookies are optional, and you can turn them off any time in . Your browser settings can also block or delete cookies. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out.
How long we keep information
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Analytics reports are kept in summary form and do not identify you. We keep messages you send for as long as needed to answer them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including Texas, California, the EU and the UK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@paddleforecast.com. We will respond within 45 days and will not treat you differently for using your rights. You may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS on every page and limit who can access subscriber data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For major changes, we will tell newsletter subscribers by email.
